Johannesburg Philharmonic Orchestra Spring Season Gala Concert

R200 – R500The Johannesburg Philharmonic Orchestra is delighted to announce the details of JPO Spring Season of the lauded World Symphony Series (WSS), running from 24th October – 14th November at the Linder Auditorium. The Season opens with the highly-anticipated Spring Gala Concert, jointly performed by the Johannesburg and KwaZulu-Natal Philharmonic Orchestras.
The Gala Concert on 24th October features two internationally recognised artists – acclaimed conductor Marcelo Lehninger, who has been recognised for his natural musicality and intelligence, combining technical perfection with a high-quality sound bringing out the spirit of the music he is conducting, and celebrated pianist Jeneba Kanneh-Mason who is captivating audiences with her dexterity in performance and interpretation.
The remaining three concerts are led by accomplished conductors Rebecca Tong and Rory Macdonald. Soloists include violinist Soyoung Yoon who has been recognised as one of the greatest violinists of her generation, internationally celebrated pianist Olga Kern and the dynamic duo of violinist Daniel Rowland and cellist Maja Bogdanovic.
Repertoire for the Spring Season includes favourites by Tchaikovsky, Mozart, Mendelssohn and Chopin, as well as widely performed works by Dvorak, Brahms and Bruch.
