Volley Nchabeleng presents African Orchestra Experience

30 May @ 7:00 pm - 10:00 pm

R150 – R200

This concert will be promoting African musical instrument as part of awareness and looking into music before colonization. “African musical instrument are invisible and treated as secondary instruments in Africa. Musicians must stand together and represent African sound and music through African instruments and language,” said Volley Nchabeleng “On stage, I will be joined by some of the seasoned musician as surprise to the audience. They all specialise in playing African indigenous musical instruments,”

Nchabeleng said instruments that existed in African continent before colonization were mainly made from trees, animal skins and played by human. “African musical instruments form African history and culture as they carry valuable history,” said Nchabeleng.

Nchabeleng said this is the platform where we focus on indigenous musical instruments and share their history with new generation as part of education and heritage awareness. “Africa is respected as one of the richest continents when it comes to art, music and instruments like marimba, mbira, lekope, uhadi, Kamele Ngoni, kora, Adungu harp and many more. If we do not pass the legacy to the new generation, they might disappear,” said Volley Nchabeleng.
