Known for his virtuosic technique and profound musicality\, he is a significant figure in the contemporary South African Jazz scene. \nMeyer’s professional career spans solo performances\, chamber music\, and orchestral collaborations. His work ranges from Baroque and Classical masterpieces (Bach\, Beethoven\, Chopin) to his own avant-garde compositions. He has performed at world-renowned venues like the Barbican Centre in London and participated in the London Jazz Festival. \nIn 2024\, he received the Goethe-Institut Mobi-Arts Grant for a performance tour across Co^te d’Ivoire\, Ghana\, and Rwanda. He was named the 2024 Artist in Residence by University of Johannesburg Arts and Culture. As a clarinetist\, he has been a member of the South African National Youth Orchestra and the University of Pretoria Symphony Orchestra. \nMeyer’s original compositions blend traditional South African motifs with contemporary harmonies. He has released two acclaimed albums: The Alchemy of Living (2021); Reawakening (2024). Beyond the stage\, Meyer is a dedicated educator and advocate for music education in South Africa.
