A Fresh, Family Friendly Jazz Picnic Experience
The inaugural Irene Jazz Picnic is a fresh new taste in jazz and food lifestyle experience with a family friendly focus; On Easter Sunday at the lush lawns of the Irene Country Club, in Centurion. The Irene Jazz Picnic features a premium lineup of performances by leading jazz musicians enjoyed in the sophisticated atmosphere of country club living.
Performances will include multi-award winning pianist and composer, Thandi Ntuli presenting a selection of her favorite tunes. The reunited Carlo Mombelli & The Prisoners of Strange return to stages following a decade of respective pursuance of solo passions. The band will play a repertoire of new music and some of their most memorable hits led by enigmatic bassist and composer, Carlo Mombelli, and featuring trombonist and vocalist, Siya Makuzeni, trumpeter Marcus Wyatt, and Just Badenhorst on drums.
Fans of straight ahead jazz will love the virtuoso Mthunzi Mvubu Quartet, comprising Mvumbu on reeds, pianist, Afrika Mkhize, with Sphelelo Mazibuko on drums and Dalisu Ndlazi playing double bass. Patrons at the Irene Jazz Picnic can also look forward to being entertained by seasoned jazz radio host, and Metro-FM presenter, Nothemba Madumo. Along with great food other fun treats there will be an easter egg hunt for the kids.
The IRENE JAZZ PICNIC takes place on Sunday, 31st March 2024 from 10am to 18:00 at the Irene Country Club in Centurion. Gates open from 10 am till 6 pm. Get your tickets on Quicket now from R350 for adults, and R100 for children 12 years and younger.
Food and beverages will be on sale at the venue. Ticket buyers are advised that food and drink from outside will not be allowed onto the venue, only picnic blankets, chairs and related gear.
