Invocation – Avant Garde Musical Band

Invocation is a Pretoria-based avant-garde musical band known for its captivating neo-soul jazz fusion, enriched with gospel, pop, and R&B elements. The ensemble is led by the versatile Phonikz, a talented composer, producer, and instrumentalist whose musical journey began at age ten, influenced by early religious harmonies. Ofentse Moses Sebula, a distinguished saxophonist from Tembisa with a background under Jerry Molelekwa, contributes extensive jazz expertise. Teboho Kobedi, also known as Diteboho, adds to the band’s brilliance with his exceptional skills as a pianist, composer, and vocalist. Together, Invocation weaves a unique musical tapestry, blending genres and pushing boundaries to create an immersive and mesmerizing auditory experience.
