Abathwebuli Trio presents: ISIDLO

ABATHWEBULI Trio is a newly formed trio led by Mthunzi Mvubu, which consists of South Africa’s most sought-after musicians. They will be playing from their new contemporary jazz songbook which mainly draws inspiration from the vast musical traditions of the African continent.
Gontse Makhene comes from one of South Africa’s legendary percussion families and has worked with some of the greatest artists in South Africa and internationally like Msaki, and Nduduzo Makhathini to name a few.
Mthunzi Mvubu is South Africa’s most recorded jazz saxophonist as a sideman on over 60 albums including international ones. His debut album “The 1st Gospel” was nominated for a South African Music Award in 2023.
Dalisu Ndlazi is a rising young star who is the most sought-after double bass player in the South African music scene and currently going on a European tour with Dr. Nduduzo Makhathini.
