27 April 2024 marked the 30th anniversary of Democratic Freedom in South Africa – a historic milestone that symbolised the end of Apartheid and the birth of the Rainbow Nation. Today, South Africa thrives as a melting pot of cultures, building a unique and proudly South African creative landscape in cuisine, music, art, and fashion. The DStv Delicious International Food & Music Festival Powered by LottoStar, SA’s premier lifestyle event platform, celebrates three decades of Creative Freedom through a first-of-its-kind showcase of the country’s finest creatives in food, music, art, and fashion alongside some of the most sought-after international talent. This year, DStv Delicious International Food & Music Festival Powered by LottoStar honours 30 years of Creative Freedom, celebrating South Africa’s monumental historic milestone through a fusion of creativity and culture. Saturday will see Janet Jackson, Thandiswa Mazwai and G-Force take to the stage with individual performances whilst a special 30 years of creative freedom show see Cassper Nyovest, Robot Boii, reason, Maggz, Touchline, Yanga Chief, Focalistic, Okmalumkoolkat and Morafe perform an ensemble. On Sunday Jill Scott, Sjava, Soweto Gospel Choir and The Maestro take to the stage and the special 30 years of creative freedom ensemble show is performed by, Yvonne Chaka Chaka, Mzwakhe Mbuli SNR, Jesse Clegg, Zolani Mahola, Sipho “Hotstix” Mabuse… and so many more to be announced… paying homage to some artists who are no longer with us.
