UJ Arts & Culture proudly presents its 2024 Artist in Residence, pianist and composer Keenan Meyer, as he delivers the debut performance of his 7-track EP, “Reawakening.” The performance will feature original compositions such as “We Have Been Before” and “Boesman Se Opstanding,” alongside reimagined renditions of songs from what Meyer calls the ‘Liberation Repertoire.’ The EP explores the theme of protest, offering a sonic journey through its personal and collective impacts. Additionally, Meyer and his ensemble will perform selections from his debut album, The Alchemy of Living, released in June 2021.
