The revolutionary 8-piece band from Cape Town makes their Durban debut with a performance that promises to move both body and spirit. Led by the mystical Farrah Khataza—a persona conjured by multi-talented artist Sanele Blaai—Operation Khataza uses music as a weapon for liberation, love, and collective awakening.
Rooted in the vibrant, interconnected community of Observatory, Cape Town, the band’s high-energy, genre-bending sound fuses soul, funk, jazz, and ancestral rhythm to re-conscientise audiences and break down social divisions. This is more than a performance—it’s a sonic uprising.
Amongst The People I Know
Also taking the stage is the experimental musical project of Tebogo J Mosane, a drummer, composer, and producer based in Johannesburg. With a deeply personal and distinctive sound, Amongst The People I Know is a soulful journey through experimental rhythm and emotion, orchestrated entirely by Mosane—from composition to performance.
Tebogo’s collaborations span a wide creative range, working with the likes of Bleee.t, Mars Baby, lordkez, Tyson Sybateli, ByLwansta, Marcus Harvey, Amarafleur, and many more. Known for his nuanced approach to production and expressive drumming, he continues to push the boundaries of genre and feeling, earning deep respect from both peers and fans.
