Phoebe Mgxaji, a Bachelor of Music student at the University of Witwatersrand, has achieved remarkable success beyond music. In 2016, she won a silver medal at the annual Science Exposition in Cape Town and became a regional silver medallist in 2018. Her accolades include a national silver medal at the Beijing Youth Science Creation Competition in 2019. Active in student leadership, she served as co-president of the School Representative Council at Curro Somerset West, where she also excelled in Curro Create Auditions, winning top honors in solo singing and acting. Her performances in productions like the Krypcon Concert and ‘From Broadway to Bird Street’ highlight her artistic versatility. In her first year at Wits, Phoebe has participated in prestigious events, including the Music Deans Concert and the Wits Choir. With a commitment to using music for healing and community building, she embodies dedication in her pursuit of musical excellence and societal impact.
