Raven Duchess

Raven Duchess is a jazz and Afro-folk singer/songwriter and multi-instrumentalist known for her captivating voice and innovative fusion of Zimbabwean folk music. Her performances, showcased at festivals like Afrofest Canada, The Music Imbizo in Durban, and the Harare International Festival of the Arts (HIFA), draw from a rich blend of jazz, swing, and township jazz. Collaborating with artists from across the globe, including Kenya, Poland, and Cuba, Raven’s work transcends borders. In 2023, she mentored female musicians with disabilities through the Povo Afrika Musicable project, supported by Music in Africa and Sound Connects. Her music offers a mystical journey that combines ancient Zimbabwean folklore with contemporary jazz influences.
