Roots Grown Deep World Music Ensemble
29 March @ 8:00 pm - 10:00 pm
R200
Roots Grown Deep is an acoustical, world music ensemble with an educational and healing arts mission. Founded in Limpopo in 2012 by composer and singer Joel Karabo Elliott (USA/South Africa), the ensemble grew over time through coherence in musical vibration and collective commitment to regenerative culture, authentic ways of Being, and tending to the rites of passage. Roots Grown Deep are reUniting in Southern Africa to celebrate the music and release of their watershed album ‘Musical Ecology’, which also communicates — through sound — a post-genre intelligence, a philosophical paradigm of joyful resistance, and a nascient/emerging curriculum for Consciousness-based education. On this special night in Cape Town, the musicians of Roots Grown Deep will be:
Neahtyah Zintle Mbuyazwe — voice
Joel Karabo Elliott — guitars, voice, trombone
Bonolo Nkoane — drums
Naftali — voice, harmonica
Dan Boshoff — guitars
Ntando Mbatha — bass
