In Siyalo Zulu’s own words…
Primarily I will be debuting some new material from a project I’m working on called The Concrete Jungle, which is an amalgamation of different diasporic sounds, cultures from various demographics into a body of work utilizing sonic vibrations. It tells the common narrative told before us “to know where you’re going you have to know here you come from”.
The conceptual idea is hugely influenced by my culture, family, friendship, upbringing, and where I am now through this journey of life. The music will be presented in a jazz idiom infused with sounds of the then and now.
