Songs Of Freedom

Joburg Theatre in partnership with Busa Creative Agency and Total Energies are excited to announce a special commemorative concert to mark the 30th Anniversary of Democracy in South Africa – Songs of Freedom. This special concert will be presented on the iconic Mandela Stage on the 21st September 2024. This once off production will include a 50 piece orchestra with an 80 voices strong mass choir comprising of the Veni Cantare Choir and the Johannesburg Choristers Choir. The headlining soloist is the world renowned South African operatic soprano Pumeza Matshikiza conducted by maestro Kutlwano Masote.
This poignant production will trace the story of South Africa through song presenting a tapestry of beauty and reflection.
